Well it is nearly winter and that only means one thing. . . PARTY!!  Grab your little outfit and sparkle!  Magazines and celebrities show you what is a current trend but the question that i always ask myself is . . what should i do with my make-up?

Fashion is not just clothes, to make an outfit really stand out the make-up has to be a main aspect of completing a style.  To get ideas, i look at fashion, this season the runway has gone all quirky and funky with bright blues and purples in contrast to the traditional, old reliable smoky look.  I like to be creative especially if i have a party to go to and so i grabbed my friend and my make-up and trialled a few looks.  Take a look and see what you think.

  This first one is a Mac inspired, funky, masterpiece!! This look is more couture, high–fashion than a typical Saturday night out make-up.  Fashion make-up artists would use this look on the runway to add wow factor to their collections, as these days the hair and make-up seems to be the main statement of a show!  It would also be used in photo shoots to exaggerate an outfit.

I have used four colours; purple, blue, yellow and green.  The colours have been applied in vertical lines to emphasise the brightness of the colours and to draw attention to the detail.  I think the colours contrast perfectly complimenting each other.  Purple feather eye-lashes has been added to excentuate the eyeshadow and the overall look.

Blue is a huge colour this season and so i grabbed a turquoise eyeliner and began . .

This is a simple look  but highly in trend. It has been seen on celebrities and models and anyone who follows fashion.  I firstly began to base the eyelid with a shimmering silver to highlight the blue.  I them lined the eye with a turquoise colour, not forgetting underneath, and defined the eye with a black eyeliner.  As the colour  is bright, to open up the eye i applied false eyelashes that gradually get longer at the ends so the eyes appear larger.

   I LOVE this colour!  Purple has always been a favouorite of mine, it is colourful yet classy!  I find you

can easily blend the different shades together easily and it looks stunning!  Again, i used a silver base coat and applied a light shade of purple on the eyelid.  I gradually applied a darker shade working out to open the eye.  Altogether i used three shades of purple applying a medium shade underneath the eye.  Again, false lashes have been used to make the eyes appear bigger.

Every girl needs a day look.  I am personally not a fan of too much make-up during the day as i think it looks tacky!  Here, i have kept it simple using 

natural earthy colour such as gold and a metal bronze.  I have simply applied the gold to the eyelid (but not too much) and working from the outside in, blended the metal bronze to define the eye.  The eye  lashes have simply

been coated with volumising mascara. Keep the cheeks simple with a natural shimmering blusher.  It looks beautiful for a natural day look.

I have hit the shops and found five essential items to update your make-up bag ready for the party season.

1. Bobbi Brown ‘Everything’ Mascara

I have to say, this mascara is the best ever!  Move aside Lancome, this volumising genius defines the eyes with luscious, non-spiky lashes.  

2.  Bobbi Brown Honey Glaze Long Wear Eye Palette 

   This eye palette is a MUST!  I have this one and i do not step out of the house       during the day without wearing these subtle, natura, sexy colours.  The idea of these creamy colours is that it lasts. Yes, thats right, the colour does not move or crease on your eyes throughout the day.  Perfect.

3.  Mac Studio Fix Foundation

  Think flawless and natural.  This liquid version of the old favourite provides an oil-free, long wearing foundation enabling you to build it up to a natural-matte finish. It does not rub off or leave skin feeling the need to breathe.  

4.  BeneFit Bad Gal Eyeliner

  This eyeliner is a secret gem! The kohl pencil is easy to apply and creates a subtle smoky effect without smudging.  I personally prefer pencil eyeliner to liquid as it does not look to dark and un-natural. I found this perfect, it perfectly defines the eyes turning the girl next door into a sexy smoky eye siren!! 

5.  Mac Dazzleglass

  I love this lipgloss!! From the moment you apply it to your lips the light reflects the   lipgloss and dazzles.  I found it non-tacky and moisturising with an easy to apply     application.  You just can not go wrong whether it is nude for the day or bold pink     for night . .  a true lipgloss!  

Dean and Dan Canten of DSquared2 have collaborated with make-up giants Mac to create a collection of colouful products for every girls make-up bag from their Autumn/Winter 2009 runway show .  The most creative product is a limited edition ‘Greasepaint Stick’ designed to create a bold colour for the eye.  The colours are perfectly in trend this party season; available in black, violet and blue.  Other products available are lipsticks, lip conditioner, lip eraser, powders and brushes.  All of these fabulous products are inspired from hit films ‘Girl Interrupted’ and ‘Grey Gardens’, taking the wild looks from Drew and Angelina and mixing them into their own collection.  

The mini-collection looks fantastic and i could not wait for the realease to grab my very own greaseproof stick in blue!  I am obsessed with Mac so i just could not resist.  The colour is stunning and the shape of the the pen is perfect for lining the eye, also brightens up any outfit. Do not let the ‘greasepaint’ term put you off because it is basically a shade stick!

This year was the most exciting London Fashion Week ever!  Fashion mags are still buzzing from the glitz and glamour that British designers such as Matthew Williamson and Vivienne Westwood showcased.  Move aside Paris, I think the Brits put the Zing into Spring for 2010!

Candy Shop

John Rocha

Leap into Spring with pretty pastel shades such as Lemon Sherbet , Sugar Pink and Parma Violet.

John Rocha excelled in this trend with his pretty, girly designs putting youth back in to fashion.  This trend has already hit the streets as new style icon Cheryl Cole recently flaunted.  Beware though fashionistas, do not mix too many pastel colours together that are bought from discount shops, or it could look more vile than style! Get it right and it will be Springs hot new look.

The Trench

A fashionable wardrobe is nothing without a trench!  London Fashion Week’s old reliable brands Aquascutum and Burberry ensured the trench took centre stage once again.  Designers created their own unique mark on their designs as Julien Macdonald opted for a traditional look compared to a sexy lace trench by Erdem.  The catwalk oozed with modern trenches with a vintage twist.

Victoria Beckham recently attempted the print look but to my surprise miserably failed by looking a bit of a mess!

This is not a particular hard look but due to the vivid designs leave hair and make up simple as less is definitely more!  London Fashion Week highlighted a new twist to the sizzling trend.  Instead of animal prints, think more abstract, ’60′s psychedelic and even kaleidoscope colours to be up to date in this already outdated trend.   

Mini Adventure!

The mini is back! After Winter get that fake tan out and show off your pins in Springs biggest trend the micro-mini. Models at Twenty8Twelve strolled down the catwalk in their take on the mini with micro high-waisted shorts, while Jaeger opted for bright micro culottes.  Which ever style you adopt, tone and prep those legs as with a micro-mini. . . you cant go wrong!  Well as long as you cover up on top!

1980′s Madonna

This year designers paid homage to 80′s Madonna’s conical bra cups and exposed corsetry.  Sheer panelling is already on the high street but it is about to get more seductive for Spring.  This trend is only for the brave as Jasper Conran’s take on the style is highlighting underwear to be worn as outerwear.  Get it right and it will be 2010′s most sizzling trend
